The Polarized Nature of the Sun in our Chart
Written by Peter KeoghIn Vedic astrology, the Sun plays an eminent role in that it represents our soul nature. Books on Vedic astrology, both traditional and contemporary, extol the virtues of the Sun. Personal magnetism, integrity, authenticity, compassion, brilliance, conscientiousness, and empathy are a few of the outstanding qualities that are attributed to it. Vedic Astrology
What is Vedic Astrology?
Vedic
Astrology is the study of planetary vibrations and how they affect human life. It is up to each one of us, however, to choose how we respond to the influence of these vibrations. We can always exercise our free will to respond either wisely or unwisely to the challenges and opportunities the planets bring to us.
Through the study of astrology, we will be able to understand ourselves better by helping us interpret our actions and reactions in life. When we can interpret the reasons behind how we respond to planetary radiations, then we can take a more active role in working with them, rather than automatically reacting to them. For this reason, astrology is both a science of observation and an art of interpretation. And it has as much to offer us now as when it first began 5000 years ago.
The eastern study of astrology is referred to as Vedic astrology or jyotish, a Sanskrit term derived from the root jyoti, which means light. It is the study of the effects of heavenly lights on human life.
