Pisces
Pisces is the twelfth and last sign of the zodiac, relating to surrender, loss or enlightenment. Due to its position in the last house, Pisces is associated with self-sacrifice, compassion, and gentleness. It speaks of patience and kindness, and the ability to heal. The sign Pisces denotes the sensitivity and intuition that comes with forbearance. However, it can also reflect the need to find ways to deal with its tremendous sensitivity.
The symbol for Pisces is two fish in constant motion, linked together but swimming in opposite directions. Related to the twelfth and final house, this sign confronts the existential reality that we are mortal and must eventually leave our body. We are aware that there is nothing left to do but surrender to the energy of the twelfth house, either with the feeling of liberation or loss. The twelfth house is often referred to as the house of Buddha. Given that Buddha experienced the infinite nature of life, his response to the energy of the twelfth house was one of serenity and liberation. However, not all of us can recognize the infinite nature of life and tends to experience the energy of the twelfth house as a sense of loss or confusion. Pisces is a feminine, yin, water sign, suggesting ultra-sensitivity, tenderness, vulnerability, and intuition. This mutable sign reflects an open, impressionable nature. Pisces is associated with the feet, reflecting the humility of this sign.
Jupiter, the planet of generosity and expansion, co-rules this sign with Neptune, an impersonal planet that is the higher octave of Venus. Both Venus and Neptune are associated with love. Whereas Venus’s energy includes love on a personal level, Neptune focuses on transcendent love that is marked by selfless concern for the welfare of others, expressed through poetry, the arts and healing professions.
