In-depth self-exploration
In-Depth Self-Exploration (10 X 60 minutes session)
The “in-depth exploration” program has been designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of yourself – as reflected by the potential indicated in your hands.
The Birla Center for Hast Jyotish is one of North America’s leading centers for services in palmistry. With a staff of highly trained specialists and 40 years of experience, we can guide you on an inspirational journey of self-discovery that has the power to change your life and your destiny.
Your previous 90-minute introductory consultation – which provided much information - was the first step in your exploration of palmistry. The “personalized program” continues this journey by introducing you to the fundamental elements of palmistry as reflected in your hands. Palmistry is a language. Having a basic grasp of its “vocabulary” can be a great asset enabling you to become better attuned to who you are as a unique individual. Gaining greater understanding of yourself through this knowledge can be a powerful, empowering tool that can dramatically enhance your life, your decision making potential and subsequent life choices.
Within the context of this program, you will discover the interplay of the three levels of awareness — conscious, subconscious and superconscious — indicated in your hand through the minor lines, the major lines and mounts.
The mounts (Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Sun, Mercury, Rahu and Ketu) represent individualized aspects of the superconscious. The major lines (heart, head and life) correspond to the subconscious level of awareness. The minor lines (Saturn, Sun, Mercury, etc.) Represent the conscious ability to mine the richness of the hidden subconscious and superconscious energies. Following is a brief explanation of the characteristics of the mounts, major and minor lines.
Starting at $100.00/hour
The mounts
Moon: the mount of Moon corresponds to our perception and the degree to which we receive an accurate or distorted impression of what is happening around us. The mount of Moon is thus an indicator of our ability to perceive ourselves, and the world around us, in an objective manner. The Moon is the mount we check for signs of optimism, depression, gratitude, sadness, trust or paranoia. It also relates to how we use our imagination; for example, whether we see the glass as half full or half empty. Thus the mount of Moon can be seen as a doorway for illness or healing.
Venus: a study of the mount of Venus reveals the strength of the body to enjoy the senses and express them fully. It indicates the extent to which we possess a love of life and an appreciation of it in all its forms, including nature, music, conversation, art, and entertainment. The mount of Venus shows our potential for being cheerful, lovable, kind, innocent, and full of life. However, when we become preoccupied with our need for security and comfort, we are self-centered and inconsiderate. We may demonstrate obsessive/compulsive behavior such that fulfilling our own needs blinds us to the needs of others.
Mars: the mounts of Mars negative and positive form the Mars galaxy. Mars negative relates to our physical energy, whereas Mars positive focuses on our mental attributes – our mental strength and perseverance. These mounts relate to our ability to absorb and diffuse anger and stress. However, when we are unable to control our response to provocation—real or imagined—we act inappropriately. We may shout, cry, argue or become aggressive, making situations worse, sometimes to the point of chaos.
Jupiter: the Jupiter mount represents the ego and how we see ourselves and our unique purpose in the world. It reflects the strength of our intellect, and our ability to excel in our chosen field. It is the mount of ambition. Jupiter energy relates to our ability to see our unique gifts working within a larger whole. We see ourselves as having a special role to fulfill; however, we do not lose sight of the fact that, as human beings, we are all interconnected. Our satisfaction comes not solely from being recognized for the good we do, but from the joy of being of service to others.
Saturn: while Jupiter indicates the potential for expanding our consciousness, Saturn relates to our ability to deepen it. Saturn is the mount of transformation. Just as fire transforms base metal into gold, the awareness we gain from the challenges and difficulties of life’s experiences transforms pain and hardship into wisdom and depth of character. However, if we are unable to assimilate the pain associated with challenging experiences that offer potential for growth, we can become bitter, resentful and mean-spirited.
Sun: to the extent that Sun energy is positively developed in the hand, we are able to connect with our soul attributes. We have allowed Saturn energy to transform pain and hardship into understanding and compassion. As we become free from attachments and expectations that potentially could interrupt the flow of our Sun energy, we are able to express unlimited joy, and to manifest qualities of brilliance, creativity, and unconditional love. Just as the physical sun is an immense and powerfully radiating body of heat and light, in astrology and palmistry its force is associated with strength and magnetism.
Mercury: Mercury, according to Greek mythology is known as Hermes, the messenger of the gods. Similarly, in hast jyotish, the mount and finger of Mercury relate to our ability to communicate and express ourselves effortlessly. Mercury denotes intuition, spontaneity and healing capabilities. Mercury reveals our degree of attachment or detachment to our success and reputation. As we become less attached, we tend to take ourselves less seriously. We develop wit, quick-thinking, and a sense of humor. Mercury also indicates the potential to develop our psychic and telepathic abilities. When we are attached to the fruits of our action, we can lie, cheat, or steal in order to acquire the things we long for.
Rahu-Ketu: the mount of Ketu reflects our past. It is the balance sheet or record of all our previous actions. The mount of Rahu reflects our present. Here we confront the results of all our past actions in the form of present circumstances. Taken together, Rahu and Ketu show how well we are dealing with issues in our immediate environment that have resulted from our past thoughts, attitudes, and behavior, and to what degree these issues will be carried forward into the future.
The major lines
Heart line: the heart line indicates the depth of our ability to love unconditionally as well as our capacity for cultivating the qualities of generosity and forgiveness. Chronological life events also register on this major line—most particularly events relating to interpersonal relationships and emotional complications.
Head line: the head line relates to our intellectual nature—our degree of intelligence and mental refinement. It indicates the degree to which we are able to perceive objectively. Consequently, it shows our potential for such spiritual qualities as concentration, peace and intuition. Chronological life events also register on the head line, particularly those affecting our mental health and psychological outlook.
Life line: the life line yields valuable information about our physical well being. It reveals the extent of our enthusiasm for life, and our willingness to undertake challenges. The formation of the life line indicates the state of our health, our degree of stamina, and the condition of our nervous system. Ideally, it reflects a stable foundation that provides physical support for our thinking and loving. Chronological life events also register on the life line, particularly those affecting our lifestyle.
The minor lines
The minor lines relate to our conscious level of awareness. The Saturn line, Sun line, Mercury line, and the girdle of Venus are the most commonly found minor lines. Some of these lines may not be present on the hand; however, these important minor lines reflect the blossoming of attributes connected with the area where they are found.
Once we are aware of the relevance of these lines, we can develop them. Changes in the minor lines can often be observed in as few as three months.
Saturn line: the Saturn line, sometimes referred to as the line of karma or destiny, reflects the course of our life from birth to death. The Saturn line is a vertical one that originates, ideally, from the base of the palm, continues upward past the head and heart lines, and terminates on or near the mount of Saturn. It is a transcending line that reflects how we structure and discipline ourselves. It gives focus and expression to the three major lines of heart, head, and life reflecting where we direct our love, thoughts, and energy respectively.
Sun line: just as the Saturn line suggests structure, focus, and endurance, the Sun line indicates the degree of success and fulfillment we enjoy as a result of our belief, dedication and passion for what we are doing. We have engaged our hearts and, consequently, an aura of magnetism is created around us, attracting the appropriate circumstances and associates into our lives, often resulting in fame, popularity and success.
Mercury line: the Mercury line relates to hermes—the winged messenger of the gods. It reveals our ability to convey concepts and ideas to the world, unimpeded by physical (life line), mental (head line), or emotional (heart line) concerns. Because we are focused and absorbed in what we are doing, we rise above any constraints of time and space.
Girdle of Venus: the girdle of Venus indicates our capacity for creative expression, and is often found in the hands of artists. Eastern texts consider the girdle of Venus auspicious. Shaped like the crescent moon, it symbolizes the beginning of a lunar cycle with its promise of becoming full. The girdle of Venus is said to reflect a permanent smile that we have in our hearts, showing that we can serve as an inspiration to others through the beauty we exemplify in our lives. A broken girdle of Venus indicates that we are overly sensitive and need to find an outlet to channel our feelings.
Union line: ideally, one or two union lines are found horizontally placed on the mount of Mercury. They reflect deeply committed, loving relationships. The number of union lines and their formation show our attitude towards initiating, developing, and sustaining a partnership.
Signs of wisdom and obstruction: the signs of wisdom and obstruction consist of stars, crosses, grills, tridents, caves, kites, flags, squares and islands. The exact interpretation of the sign of wisdom and obstruction depends on the mount or line where it is found. For example, a star on the mount of jupiter shows great spiritual potential, whereas a star on the mount of saturn indicates strongly held views may attract opposition from others.
Signs of wisdom indicate our degree of receptivity to higher knowledge. In contrast, signs of obstruction show that we may experience frustration, anguish and other non-productive emotions. The signs of obstruction are warning signals, showing us that we need to rethink areas of our life in order to get back on track. Over time, the appearance of wisdom lines will confirm the depth of inner peace and happiness that is being realized.
