Metals have been used therapeutically for thousands of years according to Ayurveda, the traditional Indian science of healing. The ancient rishis knew that specific metals were found to elicit a particular effect on the wearer when placed on or near the skin. An enhanced remedial effect was observed, however, when a combination of metals, was worn. The tri-metal bracelet, combining gold, copper and silver, is one of these unique combinations.
The tri-metal bracelet works on the principle of electrical and magnetic radiations. We can visualize our body as a mass of swirling atoms that, in turn, combine to form increasingly larger structures: first tiny cells, then organs, and ultimately the entire body as a complete organism. Regardless of size, however, each structure consists of the positive, negative and neutral characteristics associated with magnetism that, on a micro level, correspond respectively to the proton, electron, and neutron of the atom. The gold, silver and copper of the tri-metal bracelet also correspond to these three attributes.
According to the principles of magnetism, gold, equates to the positive pole of a magnet, silver to its negative pole, and copper to the neutral central point that both binds and separates the gold and silver. As a result, this specific arrangement of metals in the bracelet provides a medium through which the subtle yet powerful magnetic effect can be generated.
The wearing of the tri-metal bracelet creates a vibratory state that helps elicit a homeostasis in all our body structures, both large and small. The goal of Ayurveda is to achieve harmony and balance that is ultimately experienced as unconditional love, or a state of bliss. The bio-electromagnetic effect produced by the tri-metal bracelet helps accelerate the proliferation of “bliss cells” that, according to Ayurveda, are produced once we begin to vibrate in harmony on a body, mind, and soul level. The state of unconditional love that we ultimately attain is the raison d’être for the creation of the tri-metal bracelet.
As we begin to achieve equilibrium on a body, mind and soul level, assisted by wearing the tri-metal bracelet, we begin to recognize the importance of making appropriate choices. According to Paramahansa Yogananda, a great Indian saint, we do “the right thing, at the right time, for the right success.” Consequently, we are more likely to create and attract positive circumstances in our lives. From a more balanced vantage point, we are also in a better position to handle life’s challenges. For example, we find solutions to problems consciously, and with intention, rather than acting impulsively and reflexively.
In Autobiography of a Yogi (p. 190), Paramahansa Yogananda illustrates the protective aspect of metals in regards to external influences. “Electrical and magnetic radiations are ceaselessly circulating in the universe; they affect man’s body for good and ill. Ages ago the rishis pondered the problem of combating the adverse effects of subtle cosmic influences. The sages discovered that pure metals emit an astral light which is powerfully counteractive to negative pulls of the planets.”
The tri-metal bracelet shields us much like a lightning rod that redirects harmful electrical charges. It helps fortify our immune system, which is essential in defending the body from a variety of diseases.
The tri-metal bracelet is engraved with both the Aum symbol and the Sanskrit healing prayer: Aum sarva yantratmika namaha, which means, “I embrace the universal, harmonizing force of the Cosmos (Aum).” The dynamic vibration of these symbols enhances the magnetic effect of the bracelet.
