14 July – 1:30 to 3:00 pm
Theme: Introduction to Vedic Palmistry
Facilitator: Denise Parisé
DescriptionPalmistry is associated in the minds of many people with the notion of prediction. This idea comes from an incomplete understanding of palmistry. A study of the lines and signs of the hands can show us the patterns we have developed in response to past events. Unless we take positive steps to change, we will continue to perpetuate the patterns. By learning to understand the significance of the lines and signs on our hands as indicators of predispositions, we can decipher trends in our behavior and the likelihood of future behavior and occurrences. Armed with this information, we have the freedom both to confirm and nurture our strengths and potentials and to decide what changes we wish to make in our lives.

Theme: The 5 Tibetan Rites
Facilitator: Chandan Rugenius
Description: In this 90-minute workshop, you will discover an extraordinary yoga routine, which takes only 10 minutes of practice per day. This simple, low-impact routine, called the “Five Tibetan Rites”, helps awaken, stimulate and balance the chakras, allowing for better distribution of the vital energy (chi) throughout the body.
In his book Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth, Peter Kelder gives an account of the experiences Colonel Bradford had during the four years he spent with Tibetan monks in the Himalayas. Upon returning home, the colonel’s close relatives were stunned to see him looking 20 years younger than he had appeared four years before leaving on his journey. The colonel attributed this change to having adopted the lifestyle of the Tibetan monks, including the daily practice of this yoga technique.
He explained that “the chakras work with your physical body through the seven glands of the endocrine system. Life energy moves through the chakras and is distributed to the body through the endocrine gland.” He added that “the Five Rites speed up the spinning of the chakras, coordinate their spins so they are in harmony, and distribute life pure energy to the endocrine system, and in turn to the body organs and processes. When this happens, the result is optimal health, rejuvenation, and youthfulness.”
